ive heard amonia can be used to clean fish tanks ive also heard clear amonia works better problem is i have no idear were to get it from in queensland ive looked in pet stores plumers ect no one sells it i was told by one of the stores that the reason its not for sale is because people keep mixing it with costic materials and killing them selfs

ok latly ime getting emails from people saying ime asking this to make drugs bombs or what ever since you guys are scientist( not that you have any proof) what would clean mold marks of the side of a big glass fish tank

You can buy houshold grade ammonia (that's about 2% w/v ammonia) from Bi-Low, Coles or Woolworths. Look in the cleaning section.

If you want more concentrated solutions (eg 25% w/v sometimes known as "880") it may be obtained from specialty chemical companies or some industrial cleaning manufacturers. Expect them to check out your credentials to ensure you have a legitimate use - they will want Drivers Licence/Photo ID, Name, Address, etc. This is required under the "Substance Diversion" requirements of the PACIA agreement which operates in Australia and also under the Health Dept Poisons Regulations in Queensland.

For cleaning purposes the 2% solution will suffice. If you wish to clean mold of a fish tank, I'm assuming the fish tank is empty - use 3% hydrogen peroxide solution (available from pharmacies) and rinse well.
