ps3 isn't out yet, so xbox360. But when ps3 comes out, if they deliver on what they've said (and no one ever does that!) PS3. I am more excited for PS3 I will say that.

well there are many aspects in answering this question. if your looking for best game titles and better graphics then the ps3 is the better choice because as we all know besides Halo or Ghost Recon, there are not many good game titles out for the xbox. the ps3 does definetly look nicer, has more computing power and seems like has nicer graphics than the xbox360. but xbox 360 also has its own little quirks like being able to use it with a windows media center pc, and it has the xbox live feature which is loved by so many people these days that getting an xbox to alot of people is a good investment, i know that when i had the choice of getting the ps2 or the xbox, i chose the xbox just to see what microsoft had cooked up and to my surprise it has surpassed the ps2 in so many ways, it is a very flexible machine, the ps2 can not do a quarter of the things the xbox can do. so it is up to you to decide, if you want a machine that is flexible on so many levels, you can go to the 360, if you want just a barebone system that will play games in very nice graphics then choose the ps3

Ps3 will be superior, xbox 360 is just a remarketed Custom Pc with better components that work as a game console unit. In fact there is nothing new abou the Xbox 360 rather than not any good games yet ( xbox had very nice ones indeed ). If i was you i would wait to see whats to come with the new ps3. With the xbox360 i just see a lazy idea of microsoft trying to compete with a product that techonoloigally speaking has no real value for what they charge. Ps3 in the other side besides its high tag price should give you a more wide variety when it comes to games and other options.

Aside from posing a question comparing a system that has only just come out and another that has yet to be released, there's no positive answer to give.
Microsoft seems to be on the ball in its belief that gamers want to connect online and play, something that isn't entirely false. In its release, though, you need to remember that Microsoft DID drop the ball in its backwards compatability, something that anyone would dock points down for it, even an X-box fan. Add that to a host of minor complaints, including availability of the system when it came out, and the release was shaky at its best. It's a solid system thus far with a solid game release, but beyond that, one can't say much more- too little time has passed.
The PS3, on the other hand, seems to be basing its belief that new technology is what gamers want, or at least that it is more important. Any gamer worth his views will tell you that gameplay, not graphics, will matter most. That's why, despite the fact that Playstation 2 was technologically weaker than the 'Cube and 'Box, it did well- it had a huge selection of good games by 3rd party developers who had a good grasp on good gameplay.
Now, though, with an unforgettable E3 event that stunned everyone with a huge pricetag and left Sony to be the laughingstock of the industry (by virtue of "historical crab battles" and "RIIIIIIDGE RACER!"), one would be forgiven in doubtfulness for the new console. They're featuring Blu-Ray and Cell processing, two technological features that have not yet been implemented into common technology, and while they seem to be promising, there's no real result on how well they will perform when faced with a video gaming situation. This is not to say that they won't be impressive, but that's why it's more than a little difficult to answer your question.

PS3, only because the Xbox 360 came out way too early. The Xbox still hadn't died out yet, not to mention that since Microsoft went first, both Sony AND Nintendo can go "Oh look! Microsoft forgot *so-and-so*, and everyone wanted that! We'll put it for our system!" So pretty much the PS3 SHOULD be better, seeing that they had a lot more time to add anything or fix any bugs.

The Xbox 360 hands down with Nintendo Wii in 2nd and the imaginary Dreamcast 2 in 3rd. Than some random made-up console from atari in 4th. Finally PS3 comes in 7th place out of only 5 competitors. Damn, sucks to be sony.
Want proof that PS3 does indeed suck? Check this video out: http://www.gameklip.com/v/719/

ps3 will be better than xbox 360. Reverse game compatability, more games to choose from across 3 platforms, and superior software developers and development contribute to the Sony platforms superiority in the video game market. Not to mention microsoft products are FULL of bugs and are easy to hack. The 360 has already had numerous complaints about bugs and hardware issues... the ps3 lauch will be much smoother and less problematic.

^^ haha very funny video... but that's not "proof," that's just them making fun of Sony. I'm probably going to get a PS3, but I'm still kinda worried about the high costs and everything. Seems kinda risky on Sony's part

They both seem on the equal to each other. It really depends on what features you want with it. In my opinion 360 is better just for one thing. Halo 3
