Why can't they listen to ands such as Guns N' Roses, Pink Floyd, and Led Zeppelin. What happend to learning how to play your insturment right and have fun.

Well, not ever taking up for EMO people, but I like My Chemical Romance and others that might be considered emo. What I can't stand is all of these fake *** people (especially the girls) on Myspace who say.."oh you are so emo", or "Oh I am so emo" ...ughhh. And then they post all of this crap they listen to like "The postal service" or some other techno crap and screaming music that is horrid.
And then they try to look emo when they really just look like freaks..who go to "shows" and they are "scene" ...ughhhhhhh!

w/e

it is pretty pathetic how fake teens are growing up to be

ewwwwwwww.

oh...but its okay for teens to listen to crap like rap music, where all you hear is about sex, drugs, naked women, and anything that has to do with cars and money. I think your insane if you'd rather watch half naked women prance around with guys, and watch a rich guy show off his ride while kids are dying cause they cant get food to eat. Those people are the ones that need to get a reality check. And we wonder why teen pregnancy has sky rocketed. I think they need to find something that actually gives kids a reason to pick up their headphones. Rap music is only good when its good for the soul...not good for the body. As for classic rock...its amazing. Everyone has their own opinion about things. I don't know about you, but i don't like it when people talk about the type of crowd I'm in. Nobody is perfect. We all have our interests. Emo is amazing........i love the music...its about people speaking out and saying..."hey..i want to be different and express how i feel through my music...instead of trying to impress the critics and the fans". I think that if your a fan...your their no matter what. So don't tear down a crowd unless you know everything about them...they have problems just like you.

I think they all pretty much sing about the same thing. Teens just want someone they can relate to and they can relate to those winney teens...They would rather talk to someone who is going through what they are going through. everyone is trying to put it off on rap music on why teens and the world is taking a horrible turn. But in reality we all know that before they started rapping about selling drugs or doing some(real people issues) we had the exact same problem. Rock music is doing the same and they are talking about commiting suicide so when we find our teens lying dead in their room who will we blame then?

Every generation hates the new generation's music. This whole EMO thing seems to be happening because the parents of the current generation are self-absorbed yuppies. They are raising children to be the same, but magnified. Therefore, we will have more self-absorbed yuppy teens with no sense of good music and a "why me" whiney attitude. A bunch of vapid little crybabies who want to talk about FEELINGS.

Teens are being fed a lot of commercialist crap these days. They don't want to admit it, but frankly, we're all literally being a bunch of whores to commercialism. And as long as that's going on, record labels and such try to take advantage of it. How? Well by getting these bands that play music that supposedly related to their lives. It's like "OMGZ you feel like crap, so do I! BUY MY MUSIC AND IT WILL MAKE YOU FEEL BETTER". In short, teens are even more stupid than they were before. Hell, even I can't deny it for myself.

i happen to love My Chemical Romance and i don't have a dark life but a boring life. Other teens listen to them from their point of view of how they are living, or the music is catchy to them that they happen to like it. But this is my opinion because i'm 15.

because they will gladly eat up ANY **** that MTV will shovel down their throats....even if it is a bunch of whiney little fags in their tight girl jeans, feathered Trump combovers, little girl tees, running eyeliner......They don't have to know how to play anything as long as they look purty. What cracks me up is they think they're ****** hardcore or something!
all these disposable "bands" put together by big fat execs to make them money. today it's fallout boy or what have you, yesterday it was kanye west and nelly. kids these days are just fickle. they're like retards....attracted to things that shine (anything on tv).

This is probably because teens are going through crazy changes and their minds are changing beyond what anyone can imagine, and it helps them feel like they're not alone feeling depressed. They are only feeling depressed, though, because their brain chemicals are changing very much.
