No, it means that he really doesn't know you. When you called, did you say "this is Jane. Jane Doe from Texas"? Always identify yourself on the phone. He may know a lot of people with the name of Jane.

It's not necessarily their girlfriend is near but maybe they realized that they just don't want 2 talk 2 u. No disrespect but people r just like that and there is no excuse 4 them

or worse, could be his wife is nearby. Or he is playing the game, "He who cares the least." Some men are under the impression that acting like they don't care or don't remember you is a surefire way to get a woman interested in them. The thinking behind it is the girl will be all offended or something and make sure he can never forget her.
I think they teach this in Boys Bathroom 101 or Boys Locker room 102 class.

could be, or if you just met or haven't seen eachothr in a long time, he could just not remember you. Try mentioning the last place you met, or something about yourself to see if he remembers. If he hangs up too quickly, and doesn't try to remember you, then either he has some serious paranoia, or yeah, his girlfriend's near and probably extremely possesive. Proceed with caution...
