Mosquitos due to the transmission of disease. In much of the world, mosquitoes are a major public health problem; they are estimated to transmit disease to more than 700 million people annually, and will be responsible for the deaths of about 1 in 17 people currently alive. Malaria alone causes 1.3 to three million deaths a year. Most species of mosquito can carry the filariasis worm, a parasite that causes a disfiguring condition (often referred to as elephantiasis) characterized by a great swelling of several parts of the body; worldwide, around 40 million people are living with a filariasis disability. Most species of mosquito can carry the viral diseases yellow fever, dengue fever and epidemic polyarthritis, Rift Valley fever, and West Nile virus. Fortunately, mosquitoes do not transmit HIV or AIDS. Viruses carried by arthropods such as mosquitoes or ticks are known collectively as arboviruses. West Nile virus was accidentally introduced into the United States in 1999 and by 2003 had spread to almost every state.

Viruses are technically not considered alive but Bacteria are and they easily kill more people than all other creatures combined.

Mosqitos would have to be second on the list because of the wide number of diseases they carry. Malaria, Encephilitus and so on.

When it comes to large animals
Historically with mammels it's been the rat. During the plague the rat served as a flea transport which carried the bubonic plague. Rats have also contributed much to many famines. If you mean currently dogs are easily the most common killer among mammels. Bear attacks are rare.

Lions, tigers, Elephants, bulls and so on kill a dozen to maybe 100 every year each. Dogs kill at least 300 a year, often more. Many breeds are used in war still as well as frequently used by police and as security. Wild packs of dogs will attack human. Wild species such will as well. Lions still kill at a small number of people each year. Historically dogs were for many years used as war animals though Elephants were also frequently used as war animals. Horses still beat them both. Throwing their rider or kicking people have killed hundreds of thousands over the last 1,000 years but someone dieing from a horse is rare in most of the world today.

As for fish it's most likely the jelly fish or stone fish. Shark attacks get lots of attention but jelly fish and stone fish are more common attacks.

With reptiles it'd easily be the Mamba or a small green snake in SE Asia. Can't remember it's name off hand. Thousands die each year of snake bites. Mostly in Africa and Asia though.

Well duh, it would have to be an insect borne illness or human borne like flu. I know for a fact that the animal that kills the most human beings world over is the hippopotamus oddly enough. Source: national geographic.

I believe that the killer is not man, but mind. Non-material matter consists of thoughts, hopes, relations, or dreams. The superlative power is not man, but the train that fuels man, the mind. Man does not choose to kill, mind chooses to kill. Mind is a creature, your body is a stupid piece of meat that does whatever the mind tells it. The mind kills people, not the man. Your mind is dangerous, not your body.

If it's any creature, it's probably the mosquito because of diseases they carry. as far as mammals I believe it's the crocodile in Africa.
