It will run fine on methanol blends of 20% methanol or less. If you want it to run on E85 or a similar fuel it will need a lot of modifications. They are not expensive if you can do the labor yourself, but if you can't the labor can get very expensive.

1982? 24 years. It's about time for an upgrade isn't it? You'll probably spend that much modifying the engine anyway. 1 more year and you got a classic. It'll be worth more in original condition.

Oh, my, you've gone up a difficult track. Your engine would need to be revamped so it could function with an ethanol/menthanol mix. Now, don't get me wrong, its very possible but very troublesome and you might need to get a license to distill and use it. Some states and provinces will not allow it, so check into what's legal in your local area.

What are your reasons for wanting to? Your car will run quite happily on blended fuel with same mods you need for unleaded. Jules, automotive lecturer. Perth
