I want to try and begin a new relationship with someone but I am shy, and because of my ex husband I have low self esteem eventhough other friends say i am fine. Any advice how I can pick up the pace and try to find a partner?

I am very shy too, and i can totally relate to what's going on! well, what i would do is first tell myself that i am beautiful and make myself see that i am and i would get out there into that world (public places, etc,) and eventually i would start talking to men as if i am being friendly and then i would follow the friendship and see were it leads cause the best love affairs start off as being friendships! and Good Luck and God Bless! P.S. the best guys are the shy guys cause in some way you can be the one with controll and you can be yourself cause another shy person can relate to you and they will actually make you feel comfortable around them!

Don't be shy there is nothing to be shy about i was shy too i wouldn't eat in front of my boyfriend or really talk or be the first one to make the move after a year and a half now he is my husband. Don't listen to what your ex tells you to cause you to have low self esteem your friends are the ones that count not your ex every woman is beautiful in their own little way no matter what they feel is wrong with them or what people tell them. i wish you lots -o- luck on finding you a new relationship

Take things slow and dont hurry or rush. My husband was reserved and shy when i met him on a dateline but i most of the talking and still do today lol but he is not shy with me any more lol!!!!! We compliment each other very well :) Why do you have such a low self esteem if i may ask? Have your friends set you up on some dates with some nice guys and either double date or take is slow and meet him in a public place. Talking on the phone before meeting some one in person is a good idea too! Hope this helps you some!

Try meeting someone locally on line first. For some reason it's easier to be less shy here. Just be selective, and keep in mind that if your close friends are trying to bolster your self esteem, they may be right. If you think your self esteem has been beaten to near death, counseling might help. Good luck!

WHY PICK UP THE PACE AT ALL ?? YOU MAY GET MORE THAN YOU ARE LOOKING FOR IF YOU TRY TO JUST PICK UP A PARTNER........SLOW DOWN AND JUST ENJOY THE DATING GAME A LITTLE...... YOU WILL KNOW WHEN IT IS TIME TO *PICK UP THE PACE*... YOU WONT BE SHY WHEN MR RIGHT COMES AROUND.......... GOD BLESS

You need to find someone who will show you how to let go of shyness. Basically, quit thinking about yourself and ask others about themselves: how they feel, they look good, some complement. Shyness will just hold you back.
