Every woman is different so my advice is what is considered common:
~ you can sleep on your stomach as long as it is comfortable, BUT for better blood flow it is better to sleep on your left side.
~the first kicks can begin as soon as 3 months they are described as feeling like gas, bubbles, butterflies or light internal tickling.
The significance of the feeling depends on you and how intuned to your body you are. With my oldest I didn't feel anything until I really started showing (around 5 months) after that I could feel them all the time. My second and third pregnancies I felt the movement at 3 months. Good luck

I think if you are still sleeping on your stomach, now is the time to stop. You usually start feeling flutters around 20 weeks and kicks around 24 weeks I believe. Good luck!

You can sleep on your stomach until you start feeling uncomfortable.
You should start feeling flutters around now. Feels like a tickling feeling inside you, which could be mistaken for strange gas.
As the baby grows, these flutters will feel more and more like kicks.

Hey Tiff - I asked my OB and she said as long as I am comfortable then it's OKAY. The baby is well protected by the uterus. The baby will not feel the presure, only you will, for it is your body. You should feel flutters right about now, because I am. I am 15 week's and I still sleep on my tummy fine.
BTW congrats girlie!

It is perfectly alright for you to sleep on your stomach. The baby is protected by the liguid and such that is in the uterus. You are safe until it gets uncomfortable and begin to roll when you are on your stomach.

yes, just pull your knees up a little, kinda in the fetal position. I slept that way 9 months and the doctor said as long as it didn't hurt it was okay.

as long as the baby doesn't object. If it does, you'll never sleep, cause the baby'll pound the inside of your stomach to a pulp!

I would not do this. It could put enough pressure on the uterus to cause some problems. Some women have miscarried from far less.
