Evolution.

In biology, evolution is the measureable change in the heritable traits (allele frequency) of a population over successive generations. Evolution is ultimately the source of the vast diversity of the biological world.

Evolution is a FACT.

the Vatican's chief astronomer, Fr. George Coyne, issued a statement on 18 November 2005 saying that
"Intelligent design isn't science even though it pretends to be. If you want to teach it in schools, intelligent design should be taught when religion or cultural history is taught, not science."
Cardinal Paul Poupard added that
"the faithful have the obligation to listen to that which secular modern science has to offer, just as we ask that knowledge of the faith be taken in consideration as an expert voice in humanity."
He also warned of the permanent lesson we have learned from the Galileo case, and that
"we also know the dangers of a religion that severs its links with reason and becomes prey to fundamentalism."

I personally believe in Creation as a theory of how the universe was created, but I also believe that a species can evolve. It happens all the time, with viruses and diseases and such. Evolution is not just "man coming from a monkey" as most people think that do no know what evolution is. Evolution is simply an animal or species adapting to what is around it to survive. I also believe there is a God and that he created the universe. It is up to the individual to what he/she believes in as God has given everyone the ability to think for themselves.
So to answer your question "what is true creation or evolution?", I would say it is up to the individual. There is no solid proof of either one. No one knows what happened when the Earth "became", I guess its a possibility to know after death, but until then it is just faith.

I don't think it's impossible for both to be true. I think, however, that we have way too many literalists running around taking something that was intended to be religious literature as a science textbook that contains all there ever is, was, and will be to know about how the world works. The only thing we have evidence to support is evolution. Until the late Middle Ages, written words were distrusted as deceptive - if I can write, I can conjure written evidence, right? I'm not saying that using written words as support is useless - it's just that in the case where you're looking at the entirety of earth's history, which no one has personally witnessed, one might want to have physical evidence to support one's conclusions.

Creation.

Evolution can only happen when you control a chaotic situation. Adaptation is often confused as evolution. Even Darwin renounced his own theory because we humans have not been around long enough to thouroughly study one species turning into another. We have often discovered one species (Galapogos Iguana) that has adapted to a certain environment but truely not evolved.
True creation is when you cant explain how things work without some sort of divine intervention such as a cloud (1000's of gallons of water at 7-8 lbs per gallon floating through the air defying gravity, yet it knows that if it lets out some rain, it can clear the upcoming mountain range). Or why can you cut your hair of fingernails and they grow back. Break your arm and it can heal, but if you cut off you finger, it will never grow back. (???????)

Your question is too broad.

Creation is a religion.
Hence it cannot be proven only believed.

Evolution has two basic forms.

Micro evolution and Macro

Micro evolution is a scientific fact. Animals change to adapt to their enviroment. Everyone agrees with this. It can be observed and tested and controlled. This is what Darwin witnessed.

Macro evolution is an idea.
It does not meet the scientific requirements for a theory as it cannot be tested directally.

Darwins Macro evolutionary theory is in flux.
The fossile record has required it be adjusted to match the new evidence.
Punctuated Equalibrium is the best idea to match the evidence we have.
IT says that changes in species too place in a very short period of time, instead of over a long period.

The lack of intermediate forms is the main reason.

The total argument cannot be addressed in this forum.

Creation with a little help from evolution.

Evolution because there are millions of pieces of evidence that has been found while creation has none.

Darwin never denounced evolution, that is a myth.

Evolution.

You can see it on a much much smaller scale in your everyday life. The plants and animals we eat are selected by man for their taste, size, etc. As a result we have larger, tastier (to us) food. Those traits are selected for and over just a few generations you can visibly see the effects.

Prior to being farmed by man corn used to be tiny. Man selected the seeds of larger and larger corn, now we have the much bigger corn that is farmed today. If man ate small corn, that would have been selected for and the corn would be small today.

Have you ever conducted the "bean sprout growth experiment" in biology class where you rub the pollen from a tall sprout with another tall sprout to produce seeds for taller bean sprouts?

Replace man with natural phenomenon in the selection process. Different environments reward different traits. Those traits that are better suited for an environment have a better survival rate and in turn offer that individual a better opportunity to reproduce and pass those genes on.

Selection is just one form of evolution. There's also things like genetic drift, isolated gene pools, mutations.

This is such a touchy subject. You ALWAYS gonna have ppl who say this or that. I can only tell u to research each THOROUGHLY and come up with ur OWN conclusion. Personally, I believe in creation. What u believe is most important. Find out for yourself...
