He may not be beneath her social standard, like a lot of royal spouses, he may have a "common" occupation but still have a very majestic family tree.
Also, she's only married him once she's married him. Until then, it's pure speculation. Besides, it's not like the other crowned heads of the world are beating down the palace doors to throw their male representatives at her feet. She's...not very attractive.

Royalty are sub- standard, they could not survive on equal terms with other people.
