If you have one, I suggest you get a friend for it. Degus are very social and should be kept in pairs or groups.

A degu is considered a pocket pet. It is actually a medium sized rodent. USDA requires a permit to sell them in my state. I haven't ever sold them because they are very prolific, are not that popular and are chewers like gerbils. I like to sell pets that are not going to be returned a lot for adoption or set free because they are unwanted. Our store policy is any animal can be returned and we will adopt it out to another home.

they look like a giant gerbil.i saw one in a pet store and thought they are cute but cannot have one as my dog would not like it
