I think it is because everyone has their own defintion of perfect. To each individual, 'perfect' has its own limits and therefore if people or ourselves do not reach that limit, we start to critisize it. Its all part of the way the mind works towards things and the competition in order to get to the perfection. Anything below that perfect limit is regarded as an imperfection and seen as something bad. Its a thing that happens with out us noticing. Its just a natural reaction to how well we expect things to be done, and when they dont reach that standard, we critisize it.
By critisizing, we push ourselves to do the best we can and improve the task given to us. If we never critisized, and saw everything as perfect, i think everyone would be SO lazy because they would see no point in improvement and advancing forward in life.

That's a really good question, I suppose its like when we say killing is wrong yet there are times when killing is the only option. To every rule there is an exception. If we didn't at least try to reach for perfection I think we would never do anything with our lives. We would just settle because there would be no goals, no reason to push the limits. We need that motivation to survive.

i guess we strive for perfection even though we will never be perfect and imperfections are undesirable and humans want to get rid of them. people will shun the imperfections because the drive to be perfect is so strong that imperfections are sort of barriers.
i guess its the same with curiousity no one in this world will ever fully comprehend the universe but yet we keep trying and trying
it human nature

Life is perception. When people's perception is crossed, Example, religious beliefs, people want to defend theri 'truth'. Also from there past, people have different 'sore spots'. You may say somthing to 10 different people in the same way. One person will feel threanted. The other may be defensive. One may think you are insensitive. OThers may laugh and get that it is a joke. Note, all but the laughing was a cririsim in this case.

Because we weren't raised not to be critical of imperfection. It is taught but an emphasis isn't put onto it like it is when they teach that nothing will be perfect.

maybe not critical to imperfection but only doing best we can do in our life..atleast when chances are there..not just leave it that life is imperfect but still strive to make changes so to limit imperfection...nothing wrong if we just try.

Because believing that and trying to improve things is how men can progress, otherwise, we'd be still living in caves.

i think it has to do with ego. picking at what we percieve as imperfections in others heightens our ideas of our selves.
