What and who are the groups, what are they fighting about. How long has this been going on. What is going on today and why is there no resolution. What might happen or what is predicted to happen there. Any good websites. I just want to understand what is going on in the news.

The problems are various and complicated. They are also very involved. Most of the problems begin with the Allies reinstituting a land for the Jews in the late Forties when for about two thousand years they had had no homeland. The land they were given after the Allies won World War II is what is now known as Israel. Before then, there hadn't been a nation by this name for about two thousand years. The people the land was taken from rightfully resent what they view as the theft of their lands. This is a very skimpy description. You'll need to research the history yourself to get a more thorough understanding of all of the forces at work and why there is so much strife in that area.

The Gaza Strip is a patch of land in the middle east. The two groups fighting are the Israelis and the Palestinians. They are trying to settle a land debate. Both the Israeli and Palestinian govenments believe that the land of the Gaza Strip is theirs and that it was given to them by God. There is no resolution because they both want the land, and the hatred has festered for many decades. Right now, Israel has given the Palestinians some of the land back, but borders are still not finalized. Hopefully, their borders will be defined, but I don't think there will ever be peace.

The person who atarted with the Biblical description was not far off. That area of real estate has been fought over since before Biblical days. The Egyptian and Syrian empires of Pharonic days fought over that area of land because of its value for trade. That area is at the crossroads of several major and ancient trading routes. In Biblical days it was fought over by the fleeing Isrealites to establish a homeland. Since then it has been constantly fought over by the Romans, the Babalonians, the Syrians, Egyptians, Germany (WWII), Britian, the United States and even the Russians. The importance of this area is religious, as three of the world's major religions all claim that area as Holy Ground, Economic, as a major trade route for many millenia, and political, as four nations fight over control of this area of the globe, Egypt, Isreal, Palistine, and Syria. Right now only Isreal and Palistine are actively fighting for control, but in the 6 days war in the 1960's, all four peoples fought a hot war in the area. It is unlikely to ever stop being a hot zone of conflict.

It's a complicated situation....more than 55 years ago England gave Palestine to jews based on 3 thinkgs
1. getting jews out of europe
2. Anglu-Catholic believe that in order to Jesus to come back
jews must take the land from the river in Iraq till the river in Egypt( that's why there are 2 blue lines and between them David star at Israeli flag).

Since that time Israeli government has set up a law says any person got Jedusim as religion has the rights to live in Israel.

Palestani pple who are Christian or Muslims got ******* up and lost most of their lands......and by the time getting more complicated by both sides.
