The contractions that you speak of are very normal at this stage :) She is going to be a Mama soon :) Soon..means days or a few weeks. I know what you mean about the stress test...when baby moves you push a button. If you do not feel baby move you do not push a button.... hav your cuz eat a good meal right before going in for the next test...this may sound crazy but I had a lazy baby for stress tests and eating a good meal prior really helped...music on the belly helps too...to get them moving around...they actually ...I think..lol...like it:) Please post more info when you find out... God Bless

Atualyy I had this problem with my second who is now % 1/5 months old. I never really felt him moving and the doc started giving me stress tests 2 a week. They would put 2 monitors on me. 1 for contractions and the other to monitor the baby. He was moving all the time I found out. They gave me a button to press ebery time I felt him move, but I never felt him move, but the paper that printed out showed him moving all the time. See if the doc will do something like that for her. As for contractions... I had them all the time the last 2 months of my pregnancy. They are called Braxton hicks. False contractions. My doc gave me a list to tell the differance between them. I don't remeber them all but one I do is...Walk during one....If it goes away or calms down it is a fake, if they pain gets worse, then it is real. I can't remember anymore, but ask your doc, she should give you a list.
Justlookinfo.....You just reminded me that my baby had the cord loosely around his neck and the finale hour of my labor there were like 5 nurses in my room with me and were watching the baby very closely because his heart beat/blood pressure (I can't remember which, it might have been both. that day is just a blur to me. My husband and his sister had to tell me a lot) was very low.

First of all, realize that the doctor DOES want to help her, but there are many other patients that the doctor needs to help as well. She is not the only person experiencing problems.
Secondly, tell her to take a deep breath. Any stress that she may be under could harm the baby. If the doctors haven't said anything negative at this point, then they probably don't have any negative news. Just wait it out. I'm sure the baby will be fine.
Congratulate her for me, by the way. :)

The baby should move up until you have it. They just don't move as much when you get into the last month or so. It's good that they do have a heart beat, they need to check more on the fact to why the baby is not moving. If her contractions are that close together she should be having that baby soon.

I read that when preg, is like 8 months is the baby is growing so fast, if you cuz has preg. diabetes, the baby might be over weight, so the space he (or she) has for moving is very little or maybe none, if the baby's heart beat still normal, the baby should be OK, anyway doctor must be checking very closely, and if she is in pain I think the Dr. would have to do the C section

I had to have fetal stress tests also. My baby had times of stillness and lowered heart rate. A friend had the exact same thing. Her baby was still born because of umbilical strangulation. A month later my baby was induced and also had the cord around her neck. Luckily she was ok- Weird coincidence. I would insist on an ultrasound and a second opinion.

No it's not normal for the baby to not move at all. although real late in pregnancy the baby dosnt have alot of room to move around in there like it did earlier on. If her dr says all is well and she still feels like something just aint right tell her to go NOW and get a second opinion. she has that right. I would go to the hospital and demand testing right now. Not to scare you or freak you out but I know a girls whos baby died 20 minutes after birth because her dr dragged his feet instead of giving her a c section. The babys cord choked him. so go go go Make the dr Listen to demad they help you go to hospital and see dr on call tell them your concerns... good luck Ill say a prayer baby is ok

It is very normal for the baby to move less frequently near the end of the last semester the pregnancy :) She is experiencing some harsh braxton hicks contractions, getting ready for the big day... any time now, no worries! :) They might enduce her to speed things up for the sake of that heart rate dropping one time there, since she's basically ready :)

the baby doesnt have much room and it wont move as much the closer she gets to being due the less it should move also i contrated for months before my third was born they even had to stop it once it was so bad and way to early... anyway she needs to see what the dr says cause really no matter what anyone says here she will have her own experience and the dr is the only one that can tell you if its ok or not

i have a friend who didnt feel her baby moving at all one day and she was 8 months but the baby had been dead for 2 days already... so she felt it moving when it was dead... get an ultrasound and if there is any real problems i would suggest talking to your doctor about having your baby early
