so many kids have been raised by the mothers(only) .so many fathers left there kids when they were young and only came back when there child became famous or really done something successful in there lives. A lot of mothers should get a gift on father's day.

No, and there shouldn't be a mother's day either...

They are considered HALLMARK HOLIDAYS.

Who do you think makes the money on these days???Hallmark and the phone companies.

If you REALLY appreciate your parent, you wil let them know throughout the year how much they mean to you...NOT when HALLMARK says you should!

I don't like the idea of fathers day- I generally keep my distance from my crazy, abusive, alcoholic father, but I always get roped into spending that day with him (and coming home feeling like a completely worthless human being). Anyways, people should be thankful for their parents every day, not just one day of the year.

On a similar note, many fathers raise their children alone, and so I feel the same way about mother's day.

So many people forget the single dads out here. I raised my son on my own from the age of six when his mom ran off with a guy from work. Damn right there should be a father's day.

If you are one of the kids who do not have a father and your mom is taking his place, then i say definately yes on getting a fathers day gift, keeping in mind that it is not allways the fathers fault that they have to leave the family home.

I think there should be a father's day. If there wasn't a father's day then who would I give this card and new shirt to?

I think Father's should be honored and loved unconditionally. the unconditional love can be the deeply needed thing that can make a father who has not fulfilled his role faithfully, change.
