It should. People should notice more beautiful things instead of Violence, war, guns, germs, and steal.

Japan is doing amazing, they are likely to come out near the top during the next few decades, the united states has taken a huge plunge. Rather then spending money on education to compete with Japan and China we seem to be focused on creating war.

Japan is like a black flag that can be raised or lowered by American will at any time.Think about China and Russia they both have Manpower Oil and Arms to match any one.America has to create goodwill with Middle east India and other small Asian and African countries to counter balance instead of fighting little wars to control oil patches that has hurt the American image very much.open your arms with love and peace and the rest of the world will come running to fill the ever empty Oil barrel to the brim.

Have you looked at the lovely balance sheets of Japan's huge inefficient banks. Can you say "bad debts"? Japan is full of facades.
The country survives, but they will not be taking over anything. India is pumping out engineers in far greater numbers.

I do not think Japan is any real threat to the US. China on the other hand is on the way to becoming a superpower. Not only that, we are not even trying to avoid it. We are going the way of any great civilization in history - - DOWN

I think this question is about 20 years too late.
Japan is no longer as dominant economically and
technologically as they once were.
The U.S. is a big player in the high-tech/computer
economy. And Europe's economy continues to
grow. Same with China, though in a different way.

No, Japan is 'loosing steam'. Its China that America needs to worry about. (No, it dose not mean you can invade them)
