I know Sweden had a dramatic tie against Trinidad and Tobago, and Iran unluckily lost to Mexico, but I am wondering, what are the possibilities, what will they need to win, and what will the outcomes need to be for both of them to advance. Also, if you want to write a little more and have a bigger chance of getting voted, please write about what their chances of winning the world cup are and who do you think will win it. (By the way, I think Netherlands will be first, Argentina second, and France third.)

It will be very difficult for Iran, and reasonably possible for Sweden.
Iran is going to have to at least tie Portugal. I think this will be difficult, and then they need to make sure that they get enough of a positive goal difference on Angola. I think it will be very hard for Iran to do both of these.
Sweden has much better odds (IMO)

Although Iran lost, they played very well, they were always aligned in the diamond form when advancing to the goal post, meaning they have a great sense of being a team. The advantages that they were taller than the Mexicans, didn't really prove much, however it is still an advantage. Netherlands, played very aggressively however they didn't impress me much. I am favoring Brasil, because Ronaldinho is a top notch player, unbeatable in my book. Argentina will come in second and perhaps Czech Rep might surprise us all.

Iran does. Even though they lost to Mexico, they played very well, It's a strong team. Sweden however didn't come off too strong, so no.
By the way I think Brezil is taking the world cup home.

i think although iran unluckily lost, it still has a good chance of advaning into the 16 teams... because as we saw in the first half Iran HAS the ability to play well... if they try harder in their next match(which is versus Portugal) and with a little bit of luck they can probably defeat portugal... but this world cup's results are a bit unexpected sometimes so we cant really predict anything and expect them to be correct...

iran lost to a great power house but sweeden didnt lose but they tie trindad so that is like a loss because iran and mexico should easlily win against them. so sweeden most likly wont go on to the next round cuz they well probly lose there next 2 games. the real question is will trindad or iran go on.

yousef....u suck. i think iran would have won if the goaley was paying more attention and adjusting his positions. but we cant blame him becasue two days befrore iranw as to play his dad past away. i'm thinking iran can pull up and actually win if they try a little bit more.
