how do i start my own select baseball team?

i want to coach a 14 or 15 year old baseball team in the ellis county area in texas. i also want to know how much money and all the requirements

What I would do if I were starting a selective 14-15 yr. old team would first be to spread the word of a tryout. Talk to nearby High School coaches and ask them for any athlete contacts. Put an add in the newspaper. Make lots of phone calls. Next, hold a tryout and assemble a team. Hold practices. Sign up for games to be played and tournaments to be played in. I'm not sure of the overall cost, but you could potentially get some sponsors to help shoulder the load. Most baseball tournaments are at least 200$ per team. Next is uniforms, travel, overnight stay, etc. Good luck with your team!

Depending on the season, the cost will run anywhere from around $1000 to $2500 per team per season, not including team insurance (which in most select leagues, u are responsible for), uniforms (u can do anything u want-from plain to fancy), equipment (leagues will provide some game balls, usually,) to play tourneys, the team will need to be registered, which have VERY strict roster rules, etc... You also need to consider a reliable practice field. You are an entity within yourself. YOU are responsible for everything associated with your team. It is not rec ball at all.
On the Boys Baseball site, there are teams looking for players and players looking for teams. Placing an ad in the Ft Worth Star telegram is a good start to look for potential players. I wish you much luck. You will need it. Select playing and coaching is very cut throat.

My 16 year old son has played select ball since he was 10. He has been to MO (AAA team, came in 7th out of 49) and COLO (MAJOR team, came in 14th out of 47), in USSSA and TRIPLE CROWN tourneys. He is currently playing on the 16 year premier RED, TEXAS STIX, based out of Euless. After playing select, high school ball is a major let down.
