Probably. A lot of those schools are not accredited. Many traditional state universities offer some of their classes online now. You would be much better off doing your study with a traditional school, not a fly by night internet only school. It will be cheaper and no one will know you did your classes online if you are getting a degree from a state university. A degree is a degree with them. Get it from University of Phoenix or any one of their clones, and you will find that employers don't really respect those degrees.

To certain Extent 'Yes'.. Atleast it would Be A Hinderance to your first employment as Companies Prefer College Graduates over Correspondence students.

Rest all depends on your Talents and also your Luck...

Also it would be better for you to attend a college (depending your course) for the benefit of study tours/seminars/lectures. these are not so easily available in online course.. Belive Me i have an Online BA certificate with MERIT!!

The Wall Street Journal had an article on that. Basically they interviewed people who had gotten a degree online. The basic reason was for job advancement in the company they were already in. The hiring people at the companies said the online degrees were ok because they already knew the person. Otherwise, they said they probably would not hire someone with an online degree.

I would imagine that perception would change in the future.

I agree with dragonfly. I haven't heard of a reputable, fully-online BA. The factor that makes a degree worth having is whether it's from an accredited institution. So if, as we suspect, your program was not accredited, then employers are not going to think much of it.

A BA is a BA unless it's from one of the really good schools... otherwise it is just a check in a box.

Cheers!
