I am a proud decendant of an American Confederate soldier. Abe Lincoln suspender habius Corpus and all civil rights in the north for the length of the undeclared war. He declared Martial Law and arrested any newspaper editer who disagreed with him. Who was the bad folks?

It isn't that I am or wanting to refight the socalled Civil war. Its that the history is all wrong in reporting it. Lincoln is made out to be thisGreat President. He was not. He was a racist and John wilkes Booth should be the hero of Blacks. He saved them from deportation to Haiti and other islands. I just want it told as it really was. Lincoln was an atheist dictator. Nothing less-nothing more.

Correct Lincoln started the war unconstitutionally. It was never declared a war by Congress. Lincoln ruled as a dictator according to his own hateful whims. Thus always to tyrants.

Pres Lincoln violated many laws that owuld now get him impeached repeatedly. However, civil right have always been temporarily flexible in time of war & then re-established by holding the actions unconstituional after the crisis has passed. That's why the supreme court won't take up sweeping cases about the complaints being made against Bush now. I don't know what your question is tho?

I'm from the south, a member of the SCV, MOS&B (confederate officer ancestor), as well as the SAR, and not one bit racist. However, the south has risin again in a modern state's rights agenda to empower local government while limiting the feds to limited constituional duties. Ironically given Lincoln, that is today a republican agenda & part of why republicans carry southern states.
