It is always coming from T-shirts. I wash them all the time, I've tried using Tide with Febreeze and Bounce with Febreeze, I've tried bleach on the white shirts and NOTHING works. Some shirts are almost brand new but still develop that smell. Its an old cottony/sweaty kind of smell, hard to explain but i'm sure you get what I mean. PLEASE HELP!!! I dont want to have to throw all these shirts out!

NOPE, I am not leaving the clothes in the wash too long. I always put them in the dryer immediately. I hate that "sour" rag smell too so I make sure to dry them ASAP and thoroughly! Thanks for all the suggestions, I will try them all.

My roommate's tees are extremely odoriferous. I use oxyclean as a booster and some Downey Simple Pleasures (Orange and
Magnolia) in the rinse and the odors come right out!

You may want to also check that the shirts are 100% dry when you take them out of the dryer. Check the storages areas (closet or drawers) for moisture or mold.

First are you leaving them in the washing machine for any length of time after washing...do they go quickly into the dryer? If not then they are get the smell from the washing machine. I would try to wash an empty load with just some chlorine bleach. Do not allow the clothes to stay in the washer long after they have finished washing.

Also, have you tried oxy wash? Try it and see what happens. Good luck.

Try soaking the shirts in the washer with a cup of white vinegar in the water.

when you take off the shirt spray scubby bubbles on it, then when you go to wash it to the same thing and rub it together. This may sound weird but it really works, this works on alot of different stains too, let me know if it works for you

Try Gain. I used it when my son had a job making pizza in a hot kitchen. It worked. Also you need to use a good deodorant like Mitchum's or CertainDri.

Dry your clothing right away before they mildew. Don't leave em sitting in the washer. It sounds like what you are experiencing.

I would use multi-borax from your local walmart or grocery store. I used it ALL the time with one of my children using cloth diapers. Trust me it will do the trick!!!
