You might want to call the maker of the carpet and ask them...sometimes they have a customer service rep who will answer questions just like this one. I would call first before putting anything on it...if you put another chemical on it, it may just make the stain set that much faster.

If that doesn't work, try calling a carpet cleaning company...most of the time, they will have an answer. They've probably seen worse!

Most of the time you will be able to get it out. Do try the non acetone nail polish remover as was suggested but before you try it on the spot with the nail polish test just a bit on a non conspicuous part of your carpet, like the closet and see if it changes your carpet color. If that fails call a carpet cleaner. They will often give advice over the phone and some have special cleaners that they can come out and use. Ask if they do spot cleaning (this is cheaper than a full cleaning)

Cut out the carpet and replace with a scrape...make sure you orient the nap the same as the carpet, install with heat tape, make sure to cut exact on both cutout and plug. You will NEVER get the polish out. Perhaps salvage carpet from inside a closet???

All is good advice- make sure that when you read liontiver's response, you use nail polish REMOVER without acetone- because some carpets have modacrylic. Acetone disolves those fibers.
