Hey guys, I'm worried. I am sexually active but we always use a condom and I'm on the pill. This past month I've been extremely nervous about getting into my university of choice and stress out on other family issues. I started to spot before I was off the pill for the week, probably around the 20 or 21 day this started. Then nothing.

Tomorrow, Sunday, I am supposed to start the new pack but I still haven't got my period. I know that stress can affect periods, as an issue were my father almost died caused me to skip a couple before being sexually active. Even though it is years later the stress of the situation where my father almost died came back this past month.

I am confused on what to do. Is it okay to start a new pack if I haven't had my period? What do I do?

What should i do continue taking the pill or stop? Could i be pregnant or just skipped my period because of stress?

stress does have a big impact on the way your body works, so it can make you be late or even miss your period. but just to make sure go have a pregnancy test done.

I don't think you should start the new pack just in case you are pregnant. In the meantime keep using condoms and be extra careful, you are probably just late because of the stress. Since you are a Sunday starter, wait for your period then on the Sunday after it begins, start the new pack. Try not to dwell on being pregnant too much because it sounds as though it is highly unlikely with the protection used and it will only prolong your period further.

SInce you missed a couple pills, the pill might not be 100% effective. You said you used condoms, so that it a good back up. But to be safe, I would take a pregnancy test just to be on the safe side. It only cost a few dollars and at least you will have peace of mind. Good luck!

If you are sure you're not pregant it shouldn't be a problem however, the pill and condoms are not 100% effective, u might consider a test. Don't stress to much about it until u test and see.

I would see your doc just in case, but more than likely it is stress. I only have a full cycle about once every 3 months. other than that it is just spotting or it just lasts a day. I know mine is stress, and poor diet.
