Well , they're pretty to look at ,but yeah they are boring.

They aren't boring if you're interested in properly caring for them and possibly getting them to spawn. You can't play with them, but if you take a few moments, you can see they more or less have personalites and many are colorful. I'm especially fascinated by bettas, armored catfish (corydoras), and guppies.
I wouldn't pet them though. Aside from the germs that are on the fish, you can harm the fish.

Fish are not boring at all. There are millions to choose from, and you can have lots of fun designing your own tank and getting it just right. They are also fascinating to watch. They do require work, though, and knowledge, so research them thoroughly first. If you are looking for a unique fish, check out mudskippers, ghost knives or glass catfish. Most cichlids are also very interesting to observe.
P.S.- I would avoid touching your fish except for the scaleless kinds, such as knifefish and catfish.

I like to watch my fish, hes in a little aquarium on my desk and when I have nothing better to do I just watch him swim around. I'd really hate to be a fish though, all you would do is swim in circles and look at the same thing everyday. not a very exciting life.

hgranger23 is cruel. Oscars are wonderful fish to pet and so are goldfish, especially when they are about 6" long. The fish will sit there and let you pet them. I'm not pulling your leg or "fins". Customers are as loyal to Oscars as they are to dogs.

no way, they are great, i love mine, they come up to the glass and wriggle around and i talk to them, they are so cute,if you like them then thats good, doesnt matter if other ppl dont. also buy them some live bait fish from the pet store, they will go crazy for them lol

No! You can trin fish to do stuff, like jump out the water. When you put 2 or more betas in a tank, they fight to the death. That's fun to watch!

yeah They r boring. U cant play with them, cant pet them, cant take them out for a walk. All they do is swim around.

Yes they are kinda boring. You cant play with them, pet them, or anything really. All you can do is just stare at them and that's not very fun.

some fish are boring. especially if their dead. but some are fun like the ones that kiss but they are really fighting. its funny. also if fish come up to you when your about to feed them. they go nuts. like a dog. like are you really gonna feed me now yippie. my koi does it. its so funny and cute. so it depends on the fish. if you got dead fish of course they gonna be boring so get them out of that tank or fishbowl and get some new fish.
