If you are 70% effaced and the baby is breech, you should call your doctor's night time phone number or your local hospital and ask this same question. They will probably tell you to go ahead and go to the hospital. I would not worry, but you should be in the care of a professional, for when you do go into labor. If I were you, I would call your doctor or the doctor on call right now. Don't wait until you go into labor. Better to be safe than sorry. Good luck with your pregnancy!

When are you due? You could be at 1cm for a while. I was at 3cm for about 3 weeks before anything happened. Unless you have labor pains just wait for your doctor to tell you to go in. Stay active...hard as it may be. Walk a lot. I cleaned my whole house top to bottom the night before I went into labor with my last baby. Don't strain yourself but don't just sit around, either. Being active helps move along the dilating and might get some contractions going for you, too.
Keep your doctor's number close by and if in doubt call. They're used to being woken up I'd think :p
Good luck!

It's different for everyone. If your baby is breech, they will do a c-section. If you go into the hospital before you're in labor, they will send you home. Many women walk around dilated for weeks before going into labor.

Is the doctor going to try and turn the baby so that it isn't breech?

optionseeker's wife here - You could stay at that place a couple of
weeks. I never did get beyond 2 cm. The little one could still turn on his/her own.
