Well, you can flush him down the toilet, or bury him outside, depending on how big he is. If you'd like to have him replaced, a lot of pet stores will replace the fish. If you bought him from a pet store, call them and ask if they will replace the fish...make sure you tell them when you bought the fish. If you bought him 2 weeks ago, they might help you. 2 years is another story...If you do take him back, put him in a plastic baggie, and then inside a brown paper bag, or something to hide it in. You don't want some poor child seeing you walk in the store with a dead fish! Good luck!

You've got so many answers to this question I'm really surprized. I read most of them and it seems so many people are so heartless. Fish are beautiful creatures and give so much pleasure for so little input from us. We just clean their water once in a while and feed them every couple of days. How long had you had your fish? How did it die? (my cat got ours). Do you have a yard to bury him in? Do you live near a river or lake that you could put him in? There's lots of possibilities and it's all up to you whether you can or want to invest an emotional attachment to the final service for your fish.

If you're close to a lake or river take it and drop it in for other fish to eat.

You could also bury it into a patch of earth.

Say a little prayer for it, while you're at it.

Find a private spot for you to dig a hole and bury your finned friend. Have a private ceremony...bring any other fish that you may have and say a few nice words. Then cover him or her up and release it to fishy heaven...So sorry for your loss!!! :(
