For about 3 weeks I have been getting muscle spasms in my right upper eye lid. Sometimes it lasts a few seconds, other times it lasts longer. It'll occur a few times one day and than other days, it seems to be an ongoing thing. The past three days, I'm now getting spasms in my right arm and shoulder. It was really bad two nights ago, my shoulder looked like it had a heart beat! (The muscle was "pulsing" very visibly) Yesterday, the spasm was in my forearm. Is this something I should be concerned about? Should I go in to a clinic to talk to a Doctor about this? I know nothing about muscles spasms so I don't know if this may be something to be concerned about..

it could be concerning, if you have family members with a muscle disease. Otherwise, the eye lid spasms can come from being exposed to too much air conditioning. The arm muscle spasms should not be related to the ones of the eye. Are you working out? That can result in muscle spasms. Also, if your blood is low in magnesium you can actually get muscle cramps, which can be very painful. Usually, eating a banana should help in that case.

Been there. You may be experiencing symptoms of hypoglycemia (low blood sugar). I was. I ended up shaking so badly, I took myself to the doctor. To confirm the diagnosis, she ordered a 6-hour glucose tolerance test.

I have done a lot of reading since, and found that a fasting blood insulin test is also a way of determining if you have hypoglycemia, which is one of the pre-diabetic conditions.

In the meantime, when you get the spasms, eat something. A snack should be some protein like an egg, or peanut butter, or cheese, or whatever you like and are not allergic to. You should have a bit of low glycemic carbohydrate with that like green veges, and maybe some nuts, almonds and peanuts are good. If you want to get rid of the spasms, start reading up on hypoglycemia and what diet plan will help control (not cure) it.

You should go to the doctor. I too have muscle spasms and I have high blood pressure and I'm also anemic. Sometimes right eye twitching can be a sign of something making you happy. (Supersticion)but it have been my case before. Not sure if spasming is caused by bloodpressure but I never had a promblem until I found out I had highblood and my pottassium was dangerously low.

Take some salt in water or juice. Loss of sodium and calcium can give rise this sort of picture and usually it is not serious You can take some calcium tablets and take some salt. Insha Allah things will be fine. Of course if things do nto work out you can always and should consult your doctor. But usually these simple things work.

Yes, you need to see a doctor and have him/her check you out to see if you are experiencing "tics" or have a neurological problem.
Hope all works out for you!
