Go to Victoria, British Columbia and bring your Passports. I suggest that you stay at one of the better B & B's near downtown. Also have dinner at The Blue Crab.

I would suggest the Ballon Fiesta in Albuquerque New Mexico. It is the most amazing and incredible sight! It is a huge deal. Over a quarter million people attend each year. We always slip in a few days in Santa Fe New Mexico also. The weather is crisp, the sky is beautiful, the scenery is wonderful, the shopping and art and museums abound. Great food. I LOVE the ballons. Every shape, thing, object, product you could imagine floating in the air. Hundreds and hundreds at a time!!

Northern Minnesota arround the boundary waters is one of National Geographics top places to see in a lifetime. My husband and I are yound but we love the outdoors. We love it up there. It is Quiet and when the trees are changing it is like being in the middle of a Kincaid painting! You can cannoe and hang in Ely and/or go to Lake Superior. The weather will be cool.

If you want somewhere warm, Hawaii is great in October.
