Although my wife's father performed fuel calculations for the original Apollo landing, I'll spare you that speech. Instead, I will encourage you to watch two programs. The first show is called Conspiracy Moon Landing that it currently showing on the National Geographic Channel and it pretty much obliterates all of the popular conspiracy theories.

I would also encourage you to watch a movie called Capricorn One. Made it 1978, it is a fictional story about a fake mission to Mars. Although it is a science fiction story, it is a good example of how utterly impossible it would be to fake a moon landing for any length of time.

12 men walked on the moon from 1969 to 1972 and we have neither the resources nor the technology to pull off that big of a hoax for so long. Hundreds of thousands of people have worked on the space program. It would be far easier to put someone on the moon than to try and fake it and keep it secret for nearly 40 years.

The landings came at a time when our space program was ultra competitive with the former Soviet Union. Remember how big of a deal it was when Sputnik was put into orbit? They had the technology to monitor our moon shots and transmissions. Don't you think they would have called us out if they had evidence that it was all fake?

Perhaps the most definitive proof of our trip to the moon is what we left behind. For the last 35+ years, scientists have been beaming lasers to the moon and measuring the return times. How are they doing this? The beams are reflected back by equipment left on the moon on at 3 different locations.

Case closed.

Don't be another 'conspiracy' buff. Do you think Columbus faked finding America? NASA did NOT fake the moon landings.
Sure, NASA had the technology to "fake" the moon landings in 1969, but remember, those were more innocent times (compared with TODAY, anyway.)

NASA had no need to fake the moon landings because they had the technology to achieve it for real! We were in a real, live Space race with Russia at the time. Rest assured, if it were faked, the Russians would have known and cried foul -- but they didn't. Not a peep! (I assume Russia would've tracked the Apollo module on its way to the moon.)

People have asked this question for years. It was understandable when the moon was the FIRST space exploration, but we are way past that now. I think we continue to ask this question because we have run out of space to “explore” on earth. Alien movies have replaced the “wild Westerns.” However, there is a huge difference. Basically anyone who could afford a horse or a wagon could explore the wild West. Today’s explorers need a lot of education, a lot of luck, and/or a lot of money. As Americans, I think we unconsciously resent this. Therefore, we still want to argue that space explorations are just an extension of Orwell’s 1984.

Have you ever toyed around with Google Earth? Now they have Google Moon and Google Mars. Have a look at the footprints man left on the moon!

Damn gullible fools that believe whatever you see on tv!

Yes, I believe we never landed on the moon. It was all about POLITICS at the time. It was a race against the Soviets. The Soviets said it couldn't be done, and we had to prove them wrong! They beat us into space, but we had to beat them to the moon.

Unfortunately the calculator in the spacecraft was NOT sophisticated enough to land us even if we wanted to. The whole thing was staged and kept secret to scare the Soviets into thinking we had technology that we never had!

It's all about POLITICS, and until someone can take a photo of the landing spot or show some recent imaging that proves we landed - I'm sorry I'm not going to get sucked into some huge lie.

Some people (not myself) believe that an ancient organization of naughty smart and powerful guys called the Free Masons staged the landing on the moon in Area 51, outside of Roswell New Mexico. Area 51 is also believed to house whatever alien specimens mankind has stumbled upon. Who knows? Ask Neil and Buzz. You're silly. Have you no faith in our technological prowess? I have a friend who doesn't believe in outer space. Would you like her number?

Yes.

It was very complicated.

They sent Armstrong and crew up to the moon to take pictures of exactly what it looked like up there.

Then they came back home, built a multi-million dollar studio (in order to keep the secret they couldn't let Hollywood in on it), recreated the moon exactly as Armstrong had reported it, built a multi-million dollar replica of the capsule (since the original one was obviously used and wouldn't have worked to convince people this was the first time it had been driven), spent billions of dollars setting up a gravity room identical to the moon's gravity, set up cameras and filmed Armstrong from there.

It's amazing that the world still believes we went up there.

This is just another one of those silly urban legends. If it were actually a hoax, how many hundreds (thousands?) of people would have had to be involved in the cover up??? Someone would have come forward and leaked real proof to the press by now! How much would People magazine pay for a story like this??? As much or more than they paid for recent baby pictures, I bet!

Just like the Egyptian couldn't have possible built the pyramids, and there is no such things as airplanes, and the North American continent was never discovered because it doesn't really exist...the whole thing was faked...

Yes, we did go there and we will be going back again. Why is it so easy for people to sell out humankind's accomplishment?

As far as I know, you are just a figment of my imagination.
