You're not doing anything wrong. My son did the exact same thing and it turned out to be acid reflux or GER. His symptoms also included frequent hiccups, obvious discomfort during and immediately after a feeding and poor sleep. Reflux gets progressively worse day by day until it is treated. Please copy and paste this URL into your browser and see if your baby is showing any of the symptoms described...

If your doctor comfirms that your baby does have reflux please feel free to email me...my son and I have been through the ringer to get this mess under control! He is now 6 months old and hardly has any signs of reflux at all. My address is tysmommy29@yahoo.com...I would be so happy to help.

How long has this been happening? Is it every feeling? Is it projectile or just like a lot of spitting up? If your doctor diagnoses it and it keeps up, please mention piloric stenosis to the doctor. It's commonly misdiagnosed as reflux, but could be misdiagnosed as other things, as well.

The muscle at the bottom of the stomach is over sized and the formula can't get through causing it to come back up. It causes dehydration obviously and if not corrected could be fatal.

To correct it they do a simple short procedure where they cut down the muscle. We were home 2 days later and my son has been perfectly fine ever since. You'd never no today that he was so sick as a baby. He was 7 weeks old when he was finally correctly diagnosed and operated on.

It could be something simple as trapped air in babys tummy (gas) to something more serious (lactose intolerance, reflux). A lot of babies spit up a little bit after each feeding. If it is more than 1/2 the feeding I would make sure the baby is seen by the Dr. You don't want a dehydrated child. Whatever it is, it is probably best diagnosed by a pediatrician. A happy baby makes for a happy mommy. Good luck to you.

It depends : is the baby spitting up, or throwing up? Be sure not to be rocking the baby while;before, and during feeding . Also be sure not to give milk that has set out too long . If the baby is actually not keeping anything down , see the doctor before the child becomes severely dehydrated .

Make sure you are burping the baby after every couple of ounces. This could also be too much feeding. Or a feeding allergy or maybe your baby has a digestive disturbance. All babies spit up. If you are really worried you should take him\her to the doctor.

There is a difference between throwing up and spiting up, if your child is throwing up ( abundant vomit), every time you feed him/her, she might have "Acid Reflux" problem, or your child might be allergic to the formula you are giving him/her, contact your pediatrician and make sure to tell him about it in details, like the amount of vomit, consistency, any rashes, how much has he/she been eating etc, so your pediatrician can have enough evidence so he don't give you a wrong diagnosis, my baby had it about the same time as yours and the Dr, prescribed Zantac, which unfortunately did not work, later on he told me to put a little cereal in his formula to make it a little thicker and thank God that has made it, good luck with your bundle of joy and God bless.

Try to burp the baby after every ounce or so. He may cry, but if gas is getting trapped, this is the best way to get it out. He may need another kind of formula, but I would not worry. Many babies have acid reflux and get medicine for it. The good news is the baby will grow out of it. Good luck. If you are really worried, call you doctor or nurse, or just ask your mom! Believe it or not, moms usually do know best.

you should take the baby to the doctors as soon as possible.
it can be stomach problems or just that the baby has the wrong type of milk.
My soon was only 1 day old and all he keep doing was vomit every time he had some milk. the doctor wanted to put a feeding tube but i didnt like that idea. so we try something else. it turn out that my son needed soy formula because he stomach was to weak.
He is fine now and 4 years old.
but just go and get your baby check out.

How much are you feeding her? If you're giving ner 8 oz. of formula every two hours, yes, I imagine she would spit up. If you're feeding her properly and have cut suspect foods out of your diet (assuming you're breastfeeding) then it could be reflux, which can be taken care of easily with Zantac. If you're formula feeding, maybe the formula she's on doesn't agree with her tummy. My first son went from Enfamil to Enfamil ProSobee (soy) to Enfamil AR (added rice for babies who spit up) to finally Enfamil Nutramigen (hypoallergenic for babies who have a milk allergy). That was horrible...it's TWICE what the regular formula costs. A 12 oz. can of Enfamil Powder is $10, Nutramigen, for the same size, is $23. Anyway, I'd start by calling your baby's pediatrician and asking him.

It could be extra air - try an extra burp after feeding. It could also be acid reflux - talk to your Dr. If it is acid reflux, there are several things you can do - have baby sit up after eating (like in a swing), give baby more supervised time on thier tummy to build up thier tummy muscles, thickening thier milk with rice (but please talk to your doctor before doing this to confirm it is acid refulx and not an allergy to milk), and even medication.
