Just curious...my friend told me she still can't swim after taking 8 years of swimming lessons. On the other hand, swimming has always been very natural to me.

Yes, I can.

Your friend might be one of the very few that simply can't. There are a small number of people that simply can't float. She probably will never be any good at swimming.

When she grows up, she should stay in the shallow water and suck on a cocktail.

Yes, I learned at 8 months. My 2 year old went to the beach everyday last summer but still doesn't know how to swim he might learn this year. I think it just takes alot of time and practice as you get older. I failed swimming lessons because I wouldn't do the dead man's float I didn't understand why I should look dead I prefer to float on my back. Doesn't mean that you can't swim if you fail the class.

I took lessons as a child and I learned very fast, I'm actually very good at swimming. I just can't believe what you are saying, my aunt took her first swimming lessons about a year ago and she is 65 years old....and she already is a good swimmer.

Hi, I just started learning to swim 11 days ago. So I am still hoping in another 15 days I might be able to do freestyle properly.

What? 8 years? What kind of swimming is she trying to do?
I'd find a new swim teacher.

Yes I can swim. There are some people that can't swim however. (Could that possibly have something to do with coordination?)

No. I figure that since I get ear infections from getting water in my ears, there is no reason to learn how to swim because I never go in the water (except for the shower and rain).
