My boyfriend and I want to go somewhere quiet and relaxing (preferrably w/ a beach) from July 3rd to the 4th. We live in northern CT and would rather not drive more than 3 hours...any suggestions on some quiet little towns near the coast?

Yeah, definitely not going to Cape Cod! Too crowded..

I was thinking maybe even Rhode Island would be nice? I'm just not sure where to go! I want to make it worth it for that one night..

Fairhaven, MA. Nice small town. It has easy access but yet is small and quiet. There is a nice beach at Fort Pheonix. And there is a lot of history in this town. OH by the way this town is across the river from New Bedford, MA. Tsi should give you a better idea where the town is.

Good luck finding a room this late. Stay away from Cape Cod if you want quiet. Marshfield / Duxbury are more peaceful, larger beaches. There's some stuff to do at night and some smaller clam shack type places to eat.

Cape Cod is full of tourists- and very expensive! Have you looked into Western, Massachusetts, or the berkshires?
