In the movie Wing-Chung (Kungfu) a lady defends a tofu cake from a local bully. This was choreographed by the director who much later directed the "Matrix". It exceeds in elegance, power and grace most other Kung Fu scenes or fights.
In Westerns, an unknown, but superb film is "My name is Nobody" by Sergio Leone, featuring innovative confrontations between killer-Barbers and seated customers, and a gun-fight between Henry Fonda and Terrence Hill. Morricone score.
For real high-impact confrontations, we have to rely on the Italians.

Well I love action movies especially martial arts ones. and i love the scene towards the end of universal soldier where the van damme character is fighting the Dolph lundgren character and the lungren character is shoved into a wood chipper and ground into hamburger. That movie is awesome. I also love the fight scenes in double impact where van damme has to fight him self as his own twin brother.

The Quiet Man w/ John Wayne has a long fight at the end that's pretty cool. They fight for awhile, stop for some whiskey, fight some more, it's great.
