Purity can and has been achieved. I have
observed Amma for 16 years, and have
never seen her falter or waiver from purity
at any time; not only that, she has inspired
millions around the world to strive for purity,
through selfless service to the world.

Not really. All the religious sects believe in something other than purity. I'd rather pursue Nirvana or enlightenment.

Some people also confuse purity with being naive. So that would be a big no.

To love and help others is the greatest thing a human can acheive. To give of ourselves to make another person's life better helps all of mankind. Seeking purity is a selfish pursuit, I can't believe that individual attainment of anything is anywhere high on the list of human accomplishments.

No.
Net Creativity is. (Create more useful structure in the world than you use up in resources.)
There is no such thing as 'purity' in life. Life explores infinite combinations of combinations of life. We are walking, breathing cesspools of bacteria, parasites, symbiotic organisms, and our own changing DNA. We are immersed in an ocean of air, bacteria, organisms, chemicals, and our own waste products. Our thoughts are polluted with noise, emotions, hormones, and our own advertising of polluted products. The best we can hope to achieve is to learn to guide the flow of these things around us so that we encourage the good and discourage the bad. The more we attempt 'purity', the more we screw up the environment and ourselves. (Re: Prohibition, Mandatory Sentencing, Moral Majority, Iran-Contra, Mutually Assured Destruction, 'Strategic Bombing', Vioxx, Nutrasweet, Atrazine, Dioxin, DDT, Glyphosate, Alar all come from the 'attack and purify' philosophy which never works long term).

What kind of purity do you think you are going to achieve, exactly?

How can someone achieve purity?Purity is about being innocent and untouched. Not to many people out there like that in this world.Judging from your pic you should be old enough to know this.

purity is an unattainable goal for humans. we cease to be pure as soon as the first impure thought crosses our mind ("that is MY toy" would be one of the first ones...). enlightenment may be attainable, through never ending practice and learning. best of luck on reaching Nirvana!

The only ones that have achieved this are dead. I believe aborted fetuses are pure and children who die at birth etc. so to me achieving purity is achieving premature death, or death before realization of life.

Purity cannot be achieved by humans. We are born sinners. Only God is pure.

I tink trying to achieve purity will end up confused.
End of confusion, enlightenment is best.
