Few have already given u links to sites with rules. So I'll mainly go through the 'cool' aspects of the game-- how it enhances your cricket watching experience. you can always get rules by doing a search

1) You can get back from office or school & still have an entire action-packed game. It’s just like going for a movie or a football game
2) Game watching experience in TV--the game is not just a reduced cricket match-but an entirely new commercial package!!

*Sky sports, the official broadcasters of the game, has introduced the idea 'man on mic' .so you can actually hear from a player, when the match is in progress. So commentators can actually talk with a fielder just as he takes a catch & so on. Isn’t that cool-you get to hear all the strategies being worked out, captains justifying sudden change in field placements....

*Helmet cam -you can actually watch the ball from a batsman's perspective, with a camera attached to the helmet

3)'Bowl Out'-It brings all the excitement of a penalty shoot out into the game of cricket! It comes into play when a match gets tied. Players from both the sides are made to bowl at stumps without batsmen in front!! (Its a rare occurrence though-I Think it just happened twice in history. once in international level & once in semifinals of the English twenty-20 cup-but it sure is great fun)

4) Free hit -In normal cricket batsman can't take advantage of a no-ball as in most cases the call is made after the bowl is played. In twenty-20 the ball after a no-ball is a free hit. Batsmen can get prepared to slog the ball-& the crowd starts to roar just as the bowl is about to be bowled & when he misses it .......the roar ends as a low echo-

5) You can see some good improvisation when batsmen just try to invent new shorts for quick scoring! & some good balling at the dead-mixing of yorkers ,slower balls...& plenty of action. Its entertainment guaranteed.

twenty20 contains 20 overs
ODI has 50 overs

a stadium for twenty20 is usual size, whereas the boundaries are much smaller.

Timeout in twenty20 is 90 seconds
ODI timeout is 120 seconds

On a no-ball, or wide- a run, and two extra balls are given, with the first ball being a free hit (no one can get out except for run-out, stump)
ODI gives only a free ball, no extra hit.

twenty20 is a much faster game as compared to ODI, and is very hard-hitting too.
