Now that I don't need to wear them, what should I do with my engagement ring in particular? It has a 1ct radiant cut, with .40 on the sides (very pretty). I was thinking about selling it for cash, hold it and sell it at a good price to my little brother one day, or make a right hand ring out of it. Any suggestions?

Take them to a craftsmen jewler. Have them made into a new piece of your choice, a necklace, bracelet, or pendant. You earned those rings and now that the marriage is dissolved, change them into a "happier" setting for yourself.

If you have children, you might consider holding onto the rings and passing them on, like I will do when my children are adults.
If there are no children of the marriage, why not take the rings to a jeweller, get them melted down and redesigned into another ring, a pendant or a pin?

I recently went through a divorce myself. I am in the process of having my engagement ring and wedding ring redesigned into a ring I would want to wear. Whatever you do don't try to pawn them, they won't give you anything near what was paid for them. Hope this can help you.

Give them back to the husband or sell it ... It is your choice. I would not keep it though because it is a symbol of the old commitment and pain. They are your rings do whatever you want to do with them:)

My step father crushed his ex wives ring in a vice...i personally would either keep them for the kids,or have them melted down and made into something nice. selling them just wont be worth it, no one seems to pay well for jewellery

This ring is the true Lord of the Ring. So better you keep it for some time.

I had the paperwork from mine, so I went to the same jeweler and traded up (it was actually in the paperwork). Picked out a knockout pair of diamond earrings --thanks ex--
