I can't get comfortable. I keep tossing and turning, flipping my pillow to the cool side. One minute I'm hot and then when I take the covers off I get cold. If I use one pillow it's too flat and if I put two it's too thick. I'm too tired to wake up and too awake to go to sleep. I'm restless.

Look at your sleeping space. Try using a higher thread count for sheets. (it sounds ridiculous, but it is much more comfortable.) Try calming down before you go to sleep; don't go onto the computer or watch TV for 30 minutes before you go to bed; read or listen to calming music before sleeping; stretch out and think about your day. If you're restless, try getting up and doing something else that is low-energy but makes you tired. If you're too hot or too cold, try changing the temperature of where you're sleeping. You might want to consider seeing a doctor, as you might have insomnia, which is a sleeping disorder.

Develop bed time rituals by not using your room for anything but sleep so your body associates your bed with sleep only. Don't try to go to sleep unless you feel really tired.
Also, you could try reading before bed...it will make you tired and it will help ease your mind from the chaos of the day.
Establish consistent waking times.
Avoid caffeinated drinks.

exercise helps this a lot. I think if you exercise a lot during the day then you will feel more tired at night and you'll just drop off to sleep.
I'd say half hour run 3 times a week plus other sports and activities in other days and during the same days as you run.
