My personal experience is that it will aggravate it...I used vitamin B6 3x per day (50-100mg) and after 3-4 weeks I noticed that it didn't hurt any more. B6, among other things, has a natural anti inflammatory effect on carpal tunnel in the wrists, and tennis elbow...I tried it for my carpal tunnel...it worked and to my surprise, my plantars fasciitis also disappeared. I first heard about B6 being used this way on a radio talk show by a female doctor and her husband...I forget the name of the couple. They gave nutrutional (alternative) advice daily. Good luck.

For now, the best thing you can do for your condition is to assume another form of exercise. Personally, when I was told I had plantar fasciitis, I started yoga and pilates, along with dance. These forms of exercise combined the cardio I love about running with stretching and strength training, and especially with yoga and pilates, the moves are floor-based so your feet don't suffer. Any water activities are good too, aerobics, swimming, etc. Consider wearing arch supports, which can be made to fit your unique foot. Rolling a tennis ball around the arches helps to relieve the tension in the muscles, also. Keep up with the ice, and taking aspirin or a prescription to relieve swelling does help. You will soon be able to run again, as long as you learn to manage your foot pain around your jogs. Stretch your feet and arches before running, and afterwards, take a medication to reduce swelling and use ice. This will relieve pain in the morning. Good luck!

Rest is one of the few things that will help this problem. I echo the advise to consider swimming for a while. Don't get back in the saddle too quickly as you are likely to aggravate it again...then you are back where you started. Orthotics in your day-to-day shoes sometimes help too. Good luck.

Neither. You need to wait until the inflammation clears up. I agree with those who suggested swimming as that won't put any weight on your foot/leg.

If you had to excercise....Swimming would be better until it is resolved. I wouldn't run ...I think it would agravate it.
