I know that lots of babies were conceived when either part was under the influence of alcohol. It can't be a great state to be in, but I wouldn't worry to much.

First, does the alcohol permeate the ovum and sperm? I don't think so. I would imagine it stays pretty much in the blood. It might prevent good hydration of the ovum after fertilization, but you'll be fine.

Now, stop drinking during your pregnancy to prevent fetal alchohol syndrome.

Notice how I'm assuming it's you that we're talking about! :)

No, otherwise it would be a terrible world for shy people
But don't take any aspirin, once you know about your pregnancy.
Later on, many miscarriages result from a defect, by the way, and that often is the body getting ready to have a healthy baby, and not due to any mistake on the mother's part. It is not at all easy to lose a healthy child, despite old wives tales. Speaking of -
My great-aunt used to say, if any of us came home in an overly merry mood:

"Well, at least tell me that you got his name and phone number?!"

Neither of us have any children, it was a joke! She was born in the darkest countryside in 1900, I thought - that's pretty liberal of her ...

For all we know, maybe everyone was at it like knives back then - another phrase of hers - after dark, who knows? Anyway, here we all are, & who are we to talk, we didn't invent alcohol or sex . And ancient monks were known for their skill at brewing - and womanising - who knows, we could all have descended from them. Nobody went to infertility clinics back in the middle ages - they went (somewhere) to pray to be granted a child ...

Which is always a blessing, and an occasion for congratulations : ) Nature will have her way.

Yes, from what I heard in high school, it will. You really shouldn't be drinking alcohol while pregnant. That alone will hurt it.
