I have gone through four (4) different mobile phone manufacturers. So far, my favourite has been Samsung. The audio is louder and clearer, the signal is stronger, and there is less radiation output from the unit (which, by the way, Motorola had proved worst for in consumer reports test). That and, so far, my phone has put up with more drops than all my other phones combined. The Motorola I used to have, by the way, stopped working after about a year. I am not in any way shape or form a fan of Motorola.

For a phone with lots of features I prefer Samsung. They are typically reliable and you don't see everyone else and their brother carrying them.

If you're just after a basic phone and don't care about having the newest features, LG is great. I had two of them and sold them because I was bored of their features long before they stopped working.

Sanyo, Audiovox, and Sony Ericsson are also good brands. I am not at all a fan of Motorola.

I love my Nokia 3220. It's not a flip phone-- But i don't want it to be!-- and it takes pictures and videos! It lights up when I get a call or a text message (check it out on nokiausa.com)

But it really depends on what you want to use your phone for and what provider you have!
