Are black people equal to white?

Question

websters defines equal as "Having the same quantity, measure, or value as another." Why do white scientists out number black ones 500 to 1 where as black athletes outnumber white the same fold? If both races are the same why the bold gap? Thoughts?

I think whites have a better educational foundation to become scientists, etc. and blacks are better athletes. I think in general the white race is superior to all the races, but our numbers are dwindling every year and some day if not now, we will be the minority.....)(

In America, black people are better at sports than science for one reason. When they were slaves, nobody needed a smart slave, they needed strong slaves. It's the process of "unnatural" selection. If you take black people from Africa or other continents, they are just as smart as white people.

About the number of scientists, most people from African countries (even if they are extremely gifted) do not have a chance to pursue an education and a scientific career. If they get a better chance, there will be a lot more black scientists.

There are some Americans who will say there is a difference, but I spent some time in Europe , and I was facinated....the blacks were treated exactly like everyone else! I never saw different! Here in the states, I definately see differences in people's behavior towards one another.
But I do notice some physical differences....but I believe everyone has the potential to have "brains", some are just better equiped with the means for education.

i actually think that being black or white has nothing to do whit being more or less capable of doing most things , however each race is genetically different to the other therefor one may be better or could be better in certain things like running or swimming . however when we are talking about things which require thinking is not the race what determines who is better but the actual opportunities which are given to the individual and the way they been grown and because of the same many blacks may have never had the opportunity to become a scientist for example . so my answer is yes we are equal in most things but our bodies and genes makes us more capable of adapting to certain situations and many times this is because of our race .

Different colors like different things sometimes. Lots of blacks have great voices, lots of white are good actors. Lots of blacks are athletic, and some think they don't have the same educational opportunities as white, but they do, if they want to bad enough.

Everyone is equal. And those are good statistics, but society trains black people as athletes and white people in academics. There really are no reasons. But everyone IS equal.

There is no real (or equal) way to compare races. Many things can be described by years of enslavement and disenfranchisement (or being on the other end of it) but the only real way to compare is individual to individual and forget race altogether

no, blacks are sometimes more achievers then whites. why? because black people have to work twice as hard to make it. Black people have to prove that they are worthy to be here. Blacks invented alot of stuff we use today. They helped built what we live with today. If Blacks were scientists and doctors way before hand.

black ppl r equal in the law, but there arn't as many blacks as their r whites. as for the huge gaps, each person does his own thing, more blacks play sports, more whites r scientists

white is not a race. white is made up of over half the countries in the world. so its not a fair count.
