The sun will burn out in 4.5 - 5 billion years. But our planet will die way before that because sun will start dying in 3 billion years... that is if we dont' kill each other waaaaaaay before that.

About 5 billion years. Assuming the Andromeda galaxy doesn't speed up dramatically. If it does, it may well hit our galaxy before the sun burns out, which might cause something else to happen.

First of all it won't explode. Not enough mass to end up like that. In about 4.5-billion years though it will have exhausted all of its nuclear fuel and die out as a white dwarf star with a diameter about that of Earth.

I think about 4 or 5 billion years so it will be long after we will have lived.

about 5 billions years left till the sun burns out and turns into a white drawf or a red i dunno which one was it... but there are many things that the sun will do...
1. turn into a black hole and suck up our solar system
2. turn intoa drawf
3. the inner core grows smaller and the outer parts grows bigger and bigger till it fills up the earth's atmosphere by 95% and eleimate all life on earth...
there could be more but this is most i know of
dont worry we'll be dead by then

In 5 or so billion years it will begin to exhaust its fuel and become a red giant. Then its outter layers will puff out into space and its core will collapse into a white dwarf.
