I only know his full name, and birthday, and parents names and their old address in Texas, but they're not there any more. He was in the Marines when we were together, but I don't have his SS#, or DL# or anything. I need to prove to a judge that I've searched for him. I need ideas on where to search, and then how do I prove it? Thank you

Contact a lawyer and find out the laws in your state regarding how to divorce someone who you have no idea where they are. You may just need to take out an ad in the paper - or you may need to do much more. A lawyer will be able to let you know exactly what you have to do and will probably be able to do most of everything for you and get your divorce done fast.

Do a search or two online. print out everything, take notes. If you make phone calls take note on who, what time, what they said. EVERYTHING....I would imagine thats proof. You could do a search online for "people search" . Most of the time all you need his name. They usually give you an address history so you can put 2 and 2 together. I've never even heard of something like this so really I don't know any more than you do.....but I thought i'd put my 2 cents in....good luck.

Its really quite simple... check with a reputable attorney.... and ask about divorce by publication. Its a process where it is advertised in newpapers and at the courthouse where you last new he lived. You also have to swear out a statement that you don't know his whereabouts. Most states have provisions for this process and it has a statutory time limit for the notice being published.

I work at the court house in my state. and we have what's called a law library every Mondays they have different lawyers that come in free of charge that will listen to u and tell u what's the best why to go about ur situation. Basically they will stir u in the right direction. So i would tell u to check Ur court house out and see if they have something like ours.

I know one thing you will have to do is advertise in the newspaper that you are searching for him for a divorce...In my state they are always in the newspaper, I would even send one to the state you think some of his relatives may be in, other then that you may want to consult your lawyer, call old family members..good luck.

He abandoned you ... Get a divorce on that and let them know the last known adress you knew of him to be at. Contact the Marines and see if they can give you his ss#.

Consider starting the process to declare him legally dead. Maybe you could inherit something...you're going to have to talk to a lawyer no matter what.
