My friend keeps showing me all these forms and stuff saying how illegal limewire is. But....I dont think so, Please give me the real answer if it is illegal or not. Thank you sooo much!!!

yes downloading copyright material is illegal (some mp3 arn't copyrighted downloading these is legal but this is only band not signed to a label so must nobody you have heard)
but For the love of god would nobody use limewire have have had to reformat 7 computers of my friends now because of viruses it is a rubbish program that is open to every virus, spyware etc. there is no point building up a collection with limewire will will just lose it to a virus, if you must download either do it legally from www.itune.com google video www.tv.com etc. or if you must go illegally download use bit torrent and tusted sites like mininova.org. these are managed and is there is a problem with a file it is removed striaght away. this is illegal and i in no way condon this action but please don't use limewire it is really bad exspecially if you don't know what you are doing. you have been warned and i am sure you will ignore me but trust me it is more hassle than it is worth do you really want to reformate your computer and loss all your work

Okay downloading limewire isn't illegal. Downloading copyrighted songs from limewire is illegal. But the chances of getting caught are very small.

It is very illeagal Just think Your A Hit Music Singer and your songs are on limewire. And I came and downloaded the CD thats about 14 bucks you lost thanks to limewire and plus I would be steeling your music. So make it look like your the singer and how you would feel when you know you stole music.

People have been recording music to cassette tapes off the radio for years. If you send a music file of yours to your best friend it is the exact same thing that limewire does. what is wrong with that. At least the music isnt stolen. It is sharing huge difference.

if u are using the free version of limewire and not paying for it then yes it is illegal, be careful!!!!!!!!!!!!

Actually what I heard is when you download a song it is leagal but than sharing it as a source... now that is wrong

The bottom line is this, If you are not paying for the music then it is stealing and you are subject to be prosecuted for it. Don't do it.
