well, you were doing heavy task and now you are not...then it of course is going to make a little difference.

but if your beats go on changing even while you are not doing anything, then, its a serious problem.

as far as i know, its the 'blood pressure' problem.

and, take my words, it is dangerous.

i would advice you, not to listen to anyone and just go to and doctor. Thats the best think i think you should do.

I don't know that it is "common" exactly, and really the only person who can tell you whether or not this is something to worry about is a doctor.

From my own experience - I took a medication once called Cellcept that caused an irregular heartbeat. Lots of medications can cause this, so if you are taking any meds, check the info that came with it and consult your doctor before stopping or changing it.

If it's not caused by something like that, your doctor will probably send you for an ECG (electrocardiogram), a test that measures the electrical activity of the heart.

I have the same and was diagnosed with a heart murmur (which the doctors think was there from birth). I also get palpitations almost every day. You should get it checked out by health professionals, though.

Strangely, when I was having very bad palpitations a few years ago (before cutting down drastically on my salt intake), one doctor I went to see said my heart was completely normal, even though the specialist said I'd probably had a heart murmur since birth after performing a scan. Says a lot about the calibre of GPs in England, doesn't it...?

Whatever you do, Don't Do Drugs to address this issue. Irregular Heart Beat is not CAUSED by a LACK OF DRUGS, so why would anyone be gullible enough to consider it a solution? Take coenzyme q10, magnesium, and remember NOT to take calcium supplements. Calcium is falsely promoted as being good for the bones....that is, limestone calcium. The side effect is hypertension, or an hyper-contractive heart.

If it feels sometimes as though your heart is going to leap out of your chest-- it sounds to me like Anxiety..

the reason why i ask is because I've had it before - although mine was along side depression or a symptom of. He gave me anti d's and the problem subsided..

You can also try relaxation tecnigues such as breathing in and out slowly 10 seconds at a time.. and going for long walks helps

irregular heartbeat is more common than people know most people have it and don't notice it an extra beat can occur or sometimes a missed beat ,tachycardia or atrial fibrillation can occur at any age but i will say this if it is troublesome please contact your doctor as i was diagnosed three years ago with septal focal atrial tachycardia and i thought i was only having palpitations .another point though is that in most cases it is harmless

umm..its not healthy for your heart to skip a beat! i mean are you very stressed out about anything? or do you know if you have high cholesterol? or high blood pressure, that could mean that your heart is working overtime or it could be something simple like the wrong amount of medication in your body. (Not Really Simple but Not so great it cant be fixed).

You might have Wolff-Parkinson-White syndrome. I have it and so does my dad. All it is is a heart arrythmia, and it's fatal only in rare cases. If that's what you do have, then prepare for an uncomfortable lifetime of it, unless you're able to get it fixed through corrective heart surgery.
