Do not be scared and talk to your mother so she can help you out. A daughter's best friend around that time is usually your mom, so feel free to talk to her, it happens to all of us women and maybe one day if you have a lil' girl the same will be for her. Be calm, do not panic, wash off, put on a pad that is fit for you (teens), expect pain to come and go, pain can be drastic or soft, lay down, relax, avoid caffeine drinks because they get your period to be heavier, etc. Ask your mom for her advice as to what she did as a young girl and maybe you might also want to ask her to help you shop for the right pad and maybe some Midol for the cramps. Hope this helps girl. Take care and be patient for the next 5-7 days.

Don't worry, it is perfectly normal to be nervous and scared. I got my first period when I was 11 and was so freaked out that I didn't know what to do and didn't tell anyone all day. I know its not the easiest topic to talk about, but you should go to your Mom for help. She's been there, done that, and can answer any of your questions and give you all the comfort you need. Take a Motrin or Midol for your cramps and maybe curl up in bed with a hot water bottle.
Once you've gone through a couple of months you will become a pro at handling the mess and the cramps. You're well on your way to becoming a woman!

Don't be scared, dear! I got my first period when I was twelve too. Have you told your mom yet? If not, do so- it's a lot easier than it seems like it will be. Just say, "Mom, I think I started my period. Can we go to the store for pads/tampons?", and she'll help you out. Also, while you're at the store, pick up some ibuprofen- it's a painkiller, like aspirin, that works really well for menstrual cramps. Hot baths, heat pads, and short walks can also help with cramps.
Good luck! :) ♥

Don't be nervous, you're not going to die, dear. It's perfectly normal at your age to get your first period, and of course it hurts because the ovaries are doing weird things and it makes your stomach cramp. Your period should be pretty much over within 5-7 days. FYI, I didn't get my second period for at least 5 months after the first one. I might just have a weird body that way, but that long break was sure nice!

Talk to your mom, older sister, or even your dad.
As for your stomach, take tylenol or see if you have some midol in your medecine cabinet. Only take 2 of the midol pills. And go lie down with a heating pad on your stomach. That will help with the pain.
And put a pad in your underwear so it doesn't get ruined.

Congratulations HONey! you have now taken the next step in developing into a wonderful young lady and you should be proud of it. its not weird just learn all you can learn about menstrual periods and when you continue to get them it wont seem so weird after all and you will begin to accept the fact that this is something that must take place in order for nature to take its course. my first Red was very weird becuae i was only 9 years old, and still playing with dolls!

Trust me, don't be scared.. be proud! You're officially a woman. Make sure that you keep a calendar to keep track, keep a pad with you just in case, and don't let it sit too long. I always ask a friend that I trust to see if I'm leaking.. that's the worst thing to have happen to you.. personal experience. If the cramps are strong, midol helps, and so does some warm tea and a nap. =)

Theres no reason to be scared, your becoming a women, nothing wrong with that. I remember my first one, it hurt so much. But you can take tylenol, advil or better yet midol for the cramps. Also heat helps them go away. Take a long hot bath and you'll feel better.

OK don't be scared!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. Now you need to first get some pads and change them at least twice a day. But before u put your pad on i would advise you to just take a warm bath then put on an overnight pad and go to sleep. And U might want to take a pill and get PLENTY of sleep. U will be fine.
