I was helping my mom make pizza when the phone rang. One of our family friends told us that my sister and I's friend's mom was in a car accident. She stoped and got out of her big van and was going to water some flowers. The parking brake failed and the van started moving. She tried to stop it and it ran over her. They don't know if she is going to be ok because she is in the hospital right now. We called our friends and they said they didn't need anything. Their mother drinks to much sometimes and has said some mean and hurtful things to me but now that she is in the hospital I feel bad about disliking her. I am very sad because even though she has said some hurtful things to me both my sister and I have spent a great deal of time doing things with their family. My sister dosen't know yet because she is not here and we can't call her. I am not exactly sure if this is making any sence but I need some advise on how to not feel frightened and sad.
Please help me!!
I cannot stop crying.

The way you're feeling is normal and natural after hearing about such a tragic thing happening to someone you are close to. It's ok to feel frightened and sad.
Don't feel badly about disliking her in the past for being hurtul, it sounds like you care about her and that's what matters.
Talk with your mom and hopefully you can comfort each other, I'm sure your mom is upset as well. '
I hope that everything will turn out all right for this woman.
