A/C gases are not flammable,by the time you get half way through removing it, the engine will be cold anyway.Drain the system B-4 you begin.You should also go to R134A freon once you put it back together,it's cheaper and easier to get.

NO NO NO. That is dangerouse wait until the engine cools off so you won't burn yourself while you are trying to work and also so that no chemicals from the condenser will react with the hot engine & KABOOM!!!!!!.
