No because people in general don't think much of PETA (the ones who would make a fuss out of this) and this incident happened so long ago.
I would be interested in knowing what other more serious skeletons this senator has in his closet. But then again, Bush has an army of skeletons in his closet and look at him, he's on his second term.

I think his statements that people can get HIV from tears should hurt his camaign.
