I went to a private school all my life and I'm really curious how people arent scared to go to public school. There is so much drugs, violence, and bullying.

Believe it or not I went to a religious all girls school where there was no drugs, violence or extreme bullying at all to deal with.

I guess you can always choose to go with the good crowd in pulic school, though its not always that easy, especially if you see it going on all around you.

BTW our private school is not full of "snobby and rich people", its just that my community treasures good education and our parents would do anything for it. It does cost thousand a year per child and most of us have many children . But if something is really important to you you find a way somehow!

That's not always true. I went to a public school and never had any bad experiences like that.

I think the mistake of the parents is to take their kids to private school because sooner or later they will have to face the real world. Private schools are good dont get me wrong but we need to show or kids to handle with the world out there. The world on the simple going out to a walk is scary. Look there are drugs every where and danger even at home. You never know. But public schools are not so bad. I sure had some bulling done to me when I was little but one day I realized it all depended in you. Once they see your not scared the wont bother without the need of fitting or getting in trouble. I never did drugs and as long as you know where your standing. No one or nothing can make you change. So were you go or where you are wont define you it is what you belief in.

no its not scary and dangerous to go to public school. i went to private school in Jamaica and now that i am here in the United States public schools are not scary or dangerous. it depands on the area of the school. if the school is in the ghetto then yea they are dangerous. if it is in a nice area then its good. I go to a public high school and its a great place. Every one like our school even through our football team sucked this year. it really depends on the area the school is. the school prevents all that drug stuff and violence. now and then a fight may break out but its ok every one needs to see a fight now and then. to talk about. And there is not such ting as bullying in public schools. Thats the first time i have heard of that.

When I attended the Indiana School For The Blind, a state public school, there was only 180 students in the whole school, 10 or less per grade. We had a mandatory daily study hall after school with teachers in attendance if we had any questions. I traveled all over the country competing in track, dance and cheer leading competitions. In the fourth grade, in music class we learned how to read sheet music, in the 5th grade we had a choice to take either piano or band lessons. I became proficient at the piano. The entire piano department gave two annual concerts at Christmas and at the end of the school year.

When I was 14 my family moved to MN, I enrolled in the local public school system with the help of an aide in my classes and a case manager to monitor my progress. I had to work really hard academically to keep up with my peers at school.

I liked the blind school because I knew everybody in my class, and I got to compete in extra-curricular activities.

I liked the public school because I got to live at home and meet a more diverse group of people.

First of all, it depends on where you live, cuz sometimes in bigger cities, it could be okay schools. Although public schools are where most people go and it's fun. Public schools, you can where whatever you want that's appropriate. Some private schools have to wear uniforms right?

It depends on where you live. If you live in a major city, then I could see there being some conflict with elements you come across. Smaller cities are a little tamer in that respect. There wasn't any caste activity where you went to school at? If there wasn't any drugs or violence, then there must've been some bullying.

I went to public school, but I also went in a highly drug related area.

When I was five, I got the crap kicked out of me for a dollar for lunch. When I went to middle school in the same area, there were sixteen bomb scares and ten murder threats.

I then transferred to a bible thumper charter school where I got the crap kicked out of me for supporting John Kerry in the past election.

Any school is tough, though some are tougher.

Well my highschool was labeled the "ghetto" school because apparantly it had gangs and such. If you hang around the right group of people it shouldn't be a problem. It isn't scary if you don't get yourself into that type of situation.

Public school is exactly the same as private school, but without the snobby rich kids, and without the stinkin' uniforms.
